Find recordings, transcripts, and summaries and understand access

What Shared materials means

Shared materials collects your hosted class records and recordings, transcripts, and summaries shared by hosts of classes you joined while signed in — it is not a general file drive or a list of chat attachments

Material list

  • The count above the list reflects the classes currently displayed — this view lists ended hosted and signed-in attended classes, latest end first, 20 per page, excluding invitation-only classes — an empty list shows None
  • Check the role and date below each class name, and use the Recording, Transcript, and Summary badges to see shared material types — recording counts indicate existing material; playback availability is shown in details
  • When no recording, transcript, or summary is available, a dash replaces the material badges
  • Role badges use yellow Host and orange Participant — Host identifies the class owner; Participant identifies a signed-in attendee — Shared materials omits repetitive ended badges
  • Details opens the relevant material tab; hosted classes also offer Sharing to edit and save recording, transcript, and summary visibility — these are the same settings used at creation and in class settings — on mobile, the action spans the width below each item
  • Ended classes with unshared materials show Not shared with a disabled Details button — separate badges identify transcript processing or failure; select Retry if the list cannot be loaded

Review a class record

  1. Select a class name or Details in the dashboard to open four tabs: Recordings, Transcript, Summary, and Details
  2. Choose a session in Recordings to play the class video — its duration appears beside the recording title above the video, with Download on the right when permitted — the video fits the content width while preserving its original aspect ratio — expand participant audio below
  3. Transcripts use conversation rows with speaker colors, names, and start times — hover over a timestamp to see the end time; use text/name search and the speaker filter to find speech — timestamps do not seek playback
  4. Transcript and Full transcript use the same reading layout — enter text or a name and select Search or press Enter — choosing a speaker filters immediately; Reset clears both search and speaker filters — each segment shows its speaker, start/end time, and text
  5. Summary separates the summary, decisions, highlights, and action items — tasks show their assigned person, due date, and completion status when provided — hosts can expand Edit outcome to write and save; switching tabs keeps the unsaved draft
  6. Above the tabs, Class information shows status, start/end times, and sharing, with settings and invitations opening in dialogs from the right
  7. Attendance and polls/waiting-room records stay expanded in Details — select a timeline bar to inspect its time and duration — polls show questions, options, vote counts, and percentages; waiting-room records show request times and statuses — features follow access permissions; the top-bar arrow returns to the previous list

If materials are not visible yet

  • Check that the class was recorded — not every class is recorded automatically
  • Recordings and transcripts may take time to process after a class ends
  • Ask the host whether access to that type of material is enabled
  • Summaries must be written or generated separately and may become available at a different time
